In an increasingly digital world, online platforms have opened spaces for activism, conversations and community building. Individuals, collectives and organisations have been using this space to amplify voices, highlight issues faced by marginalised communities and lead social change. However, these spaces have also spawned harassment, bullying and threats of violence. If you’re an active social media user, you may be familiar with trolls who use online platforms to decry supporters and defenders of feminism and social justice. You may have also seen them lash out when faced with criticism.
