In 2006, Indian-born artist and photographer Sunil Gupta created a series of photographs of the daily lives of HIV positive children at NAZ Care Home in New Delhi. He had spent two years photographing the children, trying to veer away from what he called “the media and charity type pictures of victims”.
He then decided to turn the project into a long-term series with eight of the kids who have families. “I’m planning to revisit them every couple of years to see how they get on with their lives,” he has said on his website.
