The International Center for Research on Women’s (ICRW) Asia Regional Office in New Delhi, India, is using sports as a vehicle for social change through a groundbreaking program, Parivartan. Since 2008, this program has used cricket, an extremely popular sport in India to help young men and boys challenge traditional notions of manhood. It teaches them to respect women and girls and aims to reduce violence against them. Since its inception, Parivartan has expanded geographically and also has begun to include girls.
