BRIDGE Global Resources Database

BRIDGE is a specialised gender and development research and information service based in the Gender and Sexuality Cluster at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS), in the UK. BRIDGE’s Global Resources Database contains over 3,000 specially selected gender documents picked from over 1,500 sources, which can be filtered by theme or region. BRIDGE works towards advocating for the importance of gender perspective in efforts to reduce poverty and promote social justice.

CSR

CSR is dedicated to creating violence-free, gender just society through social research, advocacy, capacity building, gender transformative training, development division and crisis intervention centre.

CREA

CREA is a feminist international human rights organisation. It works on promoting, protecting, and advancing human rights and the sexual rights of people by building leadership capacities of activists and allies. Together with TARSHI, CREA has organised and conducted the Sexuality and Rights Institute in the past.

Equal Community Foundation (ECF)

Feminism in India (Hindi & English)

Feminism In India is “a\ digital intersectional feminist platform to learn, educate and develop a feminist sensibility among the youth.” The site features writing and campaigns on the intersection of gender with culture, history, health, media, society and more. It has multimedia resources such as videos and comics, as well as a general resources page.

Feminist Freedom Warriors

Feminist Freedom Warriors (FFW) is a digital video archive documenting cross-generational conversations about justice, politics and hope with feminist scholar-activists.

GenderIT

GenderIT.org is a project of the Women’s Rights Programme of the Association for Progressive Communication. The site is a multi-media think tank of and for women’s rights, sexuality, sexual rights and internet rights activists, academics, journalists and advocates. The site features articles, news, podcasts, videos, comics and blogs on internet policy and cultures from a feminist and intersectional perspective from Africa, Asia, Latin America, Arabic-speaking countries and Eastern Europe.

Gender At Work

Gender at Work India uses an intersectional feminist approach to raise institutional standards by building architectures for diversity, equity, and inclusion within workspaces in India. They establish connections, provide leadership and mentorship support to professionals, individuals, and organisations. Their mission is to provide resources (tools, frameworks, and learning programmes) that empower practitioners to create more diverse and inclusive organisations.

Men Against Violence and Abuse (Hindi & English)

Men Against Violence and Abuse is an India-based organisation that works with “boys and men to address issues of gender inequality and discrimination by interrogating the existing dominant model of masculinity and help stop gender-based violence against women.” They have resources like videos (in English and Hindi), a Hindi publication and a blog.

MenEngage Alliance

MenEngage is a global alliance that engages men and boys in women’s rights, gender justice, LGBTQI rights, and social justice for all. They have chapters throughout the world. Their website has resources on advocacy & communication, community-based intervention, group education, organisational governance & leadership, research & evaluation and service provision and more.

National Organization for Men Against Sexism

NOMAS is a US-based “pro-feminist, LGBTQ+ affirmative” organisation that aims to “enhance men’s lives’’ and bring justice on a broad range of social issues including age, religion, and physical abilities. Their site has many resources for men who are interested in learning how to support feminism and end gender based violence. They have links on issues such as reproductive coercion, homophobia, men’s mental health, fathering, sex trafficking and more.

Nirantar

Nirantar works towards enabling empowerment through education, seeing and shaping education processes from a critical, feminist perspective. They promote transformatory formal and non-formal learning processes which enable girls and women from marginalised communities to better understand and address their realities. Nirantar also works at the community-level and undertakes research on critical issues that need greater attention from the state as well as civil society.

North East Network (NEN)

NEN is a women’s rights organisation that links with rural and urban women, and civil society organisations on issues of development social and gender justice and environmental justice in Northeast India. They recognise the potential and rights of every individual and child as crucial, irrespective of race, colour, caste, ethnic origins, different abilities, linguistic groups, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, marital/civil/family status, gender, age or social grouping, towards collective change in society.

United Nations WomenWatch

“Curated news and events on gender equality from the United Nations.” This site summarises the UN’s gender agenda, disseminates news about UN activities and provides links to all UN bodies, conventions, declarations, and conferences that are relevant to women’s issues.
