Pan Suiming is a well-known sociologist, sexologist, and researcher in Beijing for the past twenty years. He is the Director and a Professor at the Institute for Sexuality and Gender, Sociology department, Renmin (People’s) University of China in Beijing. He is the principal researcher of more than 20 national and international research projects and has published 8 books and more than 200 papers on sexuality. His research covers issues such as sex work in China, Chinese people’s attitudes and behaviors around sexuality, cultural and historical study of sexuality, and homosexuality, which have great influence over HIV and AIDS prevention and intervention programs in China.

Chung To is founder and chairperson of Chi Heng Foundation that works on education and care for over 3,000 children whose parents have died of or are dying of AIDS in four provinces in China, prevention of AIDS among vulnerable groups including MSM (men who have sex with other men) and sex workers, and promotion of equal rights. Chi Heng’s MSM project operates in 10 cities in China, forming a national platform for AIDS prevention for MSM.

Geetanjali Misra is the Executive Director of CREA (Creating Resources for Empowerment in Action), a not for profit organization based in New Delhi, India. CREA empowers women to articulate, demand and access their rights by enhancing women's leadership and focusing on issues of sexuality, reproductive health, violence against women, women's rights and social justice. She is a co-founder of SAKHI for South Asian Women, a New York based organization committed to ending violence against women of South Asian origin. She is on the board of Reproductive Health Matters (RHM), serves on the advisory committee for the Global Fund for Women (GFW) and is President of the Association for Women's Rights in Development (AWID).

Dédé Oetomo was one of the founders of Indonesia’s first organization for homosexuals, Lambda Indonesia (1982-1986). He is also co-founder (1987) and a member of the board of trustees of GAYa NUSANTARA Foundation, an organization originally working for the sexual health of gay men, transgender people, and male sex workers, based in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. He is also active in the Asia/Pacific Rainbow network of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex/indigenous and queer (LGBTIQ+) organizations. In 1998 he received the Felipa de Souza Award from the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission and in 2001 the Utopia Award for Pioneering Gay Work in Asia.

Ninuk Widyantoro is a psychologist and is among the most respected health activists in Indonesia. She started her career as a Family Planning Counselor and soon became a Counseling Trainer, and wrote a counseling manual, guideline and book. In 1993, she became an independent consultant and trainer for Family Planning/Reproductive Health counseling, working in several countries such as Vietnam, Bangladesh, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Kazakistan. In the year 2000, together with other activists in Indonesia, she began an initiative to amend the Health Law - 1992, which includes women and adolescents’ reproductive health rights and services. She is one of the Founders of the Women’s Health Foundation.

Khuat Thu Hong is the Executive Director of the Institute for Social Development Studies, Hanoi, Vietnam. She has been a gender specialist with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). She has worked extensively on gender issues and HIV and AIDS, and focuses on social aspects and sexual behaviours of sex workers and their clients related to HIV and AIDS. She has also worked widely and written a number of papers on reproductive and sexual health of adolescents and young people to influence policy and programs in Vietnam.
